~~I have sooooooo many pictures from our Spring Break trip to Nashville. We had so much fun last year…so we went again. We love country music, and if you haven’t been to Nashville—GO!! It is a cool city with so much stuff to do, and it is really beautiful. We rented a house on VRBO that was in the heart of the city–close to both Belmont and Vanderbilt University.
The first day, we did the bike tour again with Green Fleet Bike Tours…it REALLY is a must do. We went to totally different places than last year except we rode through Fisk University again because we have a story with a friend–long one–but wanted to get a picture. If you’ve never heard the real story behind why Nashville is called Music City–read HERE!! We also stopped at the Union Station hotel which is where the gorgeous lobby is and the train station is still there.
We had a midday snack at Goo Goo Clusters (diet of champions) and then finished off the day with live music at Acme. The indoor design and decor is pretty cool. The food good was really, really good (hot chicken bites and fried green tomatoes)….and it was child friendly if you have kids with you even though it is also a bar…babies in bars!!!
~~~Start of Day 2
~~It was cold and raining this day, and we headed to Puckett’s Grocery for breakfast (live music at night)…food was good. Holt got the chicken and waffles–delicious!!! Because of the weather, we headed to Music City Indoor Speedway and drove Go Karts–I fly in those about like I do on the road–I came in dead last place. I just do not feel the need for speed. There was also an arcade. I dominated at air hockey and got absolutely killed at basketball. It’s hard to shoot with these nails, y’all.
The nighttime consisted of dinner at The Farmhouse and a Nashville Predators game. The food was interesting–good–but VERY eclectic menu. The kids were adventurous. I was proud of them for trying new things. The hockey game was FAB!!! They played the Winnepeg Jets, and won 5-4 in overtime. Holt was VERY into the game. We had some Jets fans talking smack behind us, and he was so happy to get the last word!! Carrie Underwood’s husband scored a goal–the crowd calls him Mr. Underwood–although his name is Mike Fischer. I’d say he is the one winning.
More on Wednesday–sorry there are so many pics!!!
